Cabbage and Sausage
INGREDIENTS
1 pkg favorite sausage
1 ½ tbs olive oil
1 med onion – chopped
3 garlic cloves – minced
1 med head cabbage (about 2lbs)
¾ tsp kosher salt
½ tsp pepper
1 tsp red wine vinegar
DIRECTIONS
Half your sausage and then cut into ½ inch pieces
Chop your cabbage into 1-inch pieces
Discarding the core of the cabbage
Heat oil over med heat in Dutch oven
Add your sausage and cook until browned
Remove and set to the side
Reduce heat to med low
Add a small amount of oil then add onion
Cook until onion is softened about 5 minutes
Add your cabbage, garlic, salt and pepper
Toss well to combine
Cover and cook 10-15 minutes
Stirring every 4-5 minutes
Once cabbage is wilted
Add your sausage and vinegar
Stir and cover for another 3-5 minutes
Once cabbage is tender and sausage is hot
Taste and add salt as needed
