Baked Mac and Cheese

Bake4d Mac and Cheese



Ingredients

1 lbs. elbow pasta

½ cup butter

½ cup flour

1 ½ cup milk

2 ½ cups half and half

4 cups shredded med sharp cheddar cheese

2 cups shredded Gouda** cheese

**Substitutes are Gruyere, Swiss or white cheddar

½ tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

¼ tsp paprika


Directions

Preheat oven to 325

Spray 9x13 disk with cooking spray


Cook pasta per instructions

Drain pasta and set to the side


Mix shredded cheeses together

Separate in to 3 bowls

*3 cups for sauce

*1 ½ cups for inner layer

*1 ½ cups for topping


Heat large saucepan over medium

Melt butter

Slow add flour to butter mixing with a whisk

Cook for about 1-2 minutes keep mixing

Slowly pour in milk and half and half

Continue mixing in the milk and half and half

Whisk until fully combined and smooth

Reduce heat

Add spices and whisk to combine

Slow add in the 3 cups of cheese

Whisk until completely melted and smooth


In large bowl

Add pasta with cheese sauce

Mix till fully combined


Pour half of the pasta in the 9x13 disk

Top w/ the 1 ½ cup of cheese

Pour the remaining half of pasta into dish

Top w/ the remaining cheese


Place in heated over for 15-20 minutes

Cook until cheese is bubbly and golden brown
