Marinara Sauce
Ingredients
6 Tbs Olive Oil
1 Cup diced white onion
12 cloves garlic (pressed or minced)
¾ Tsp red pepper flakes
3 (28 oz) can’s whole tomatoes
3 Tsp oregano
2 ¼ Tsp salt
1 ½ tsp pepper
9 leaves fresh basil
Directions
Heat large saucepan over med high
Add oil
Once hot
Add onion and cook for 5 minutes
Add garlic
Stir to combine
Cook for 1-2 minutes
Add tomatoes, oregano, salt,
red pepper flakes and pepper
Stir to combine
Using wooden spoon or potato masher
Break up tomatoes as sauce cooks
Add basil
Simmer for 20-30 minutes
Stirring occasionally
Remove basil
Add salt and pepper to taste
For smoother sauce
Use blender until you get desired consistency
Server w/ pasta, fried cheese sticks or meatballs
