Cornbread Dressing

Cornbread Dressing



Ingredients

6 Chicken Thighs and de-boned

3 boxes Jiffy cornbread/muffin mix

1 large onion

1 large bell pepper

3-4 Celery stakes

1 small bunch green onions (3/4 small onions and tops)

Seasoning to taste

*Salt

*Black pepper

*Garlic powder

*Poultry seasoning***


1 can of cream of chicken (Mom doesn't know)

2-3 Chicken Bouillon cubes

2 cans chicken broth (any brand)

1 stick of butter



Directions

Bake corn bread and let cool while boiling chicken

Boil chicken in water, with bouillon cubes, salt and pepper

Once cooked de-bone saving the broth for dressing mix

Sauté onions, bell pepper in 1/2 stick of butter


Crumble cornbread in pan add broth until soupy

Add sautéed vegetables, chicken, cream of chicken soup and Green Onions

Mix and season to taste.

You can leave it a little soupy as the cornbread will soak up your broth

If to dry add some can broth.


cut up the other 1/2 stick of butter and place on top of the dressing


Bake in 350-degree oven until golden brown for 1-2 hrs


Note: Do not add to much poultry mix as it will overpower the other seasoning
